Emergency First Aid with Level 'C' CPR

Course Description:
This 8-hour Emergency First Aid program is designed for individuals who have easy access to Emergency Medical Services. The focus of the program is on maintaining an open airway, assisting breathing, controlling bleeding and preventing further injury until medical care is available. Successful candidates will receive a certificate recognized by Alberta Human Resources and Employment.

  • Casualty Assessment
  • Triage/Recognition of Vital Signs/Care of an Unconscious Patient
  • Respiratory Emergencies
  • Airway Management/Choking Maneuvers for Airway Obstructions/Artificial Respiration
  • Circulatory System Emergencies
  • Control of External Bleeding/Recognition and Treatment of Internal Bleeding and Shock/Angina, Heart Attack and Stroke
  • Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation for Adult/Child and Infant
  • Secondary Assessment
  • Simple Fractures Splinting
  • Moving and Transporting
  • AED Automatic External Defibrillator
